Caitlyn and Dylan were married at Waterton Hall, a majestic homestead encompasing sweeping vineyards and outbuildings perched on the Tamar River, near Launceston.
This historic property and winery is a photographic dream; with vineyard & circular lawn views to the water, waterside rustic boatshed & deck, restored 1850s heritage stone barn, historic garden & breathtaking manor house overlooking all. In addition they produce award winning wines, which were a part of the wedding package!
Like many weddings during this time, this was not the first date chosen, so Caitlin and Dylan were well and truly ready when their wedding day finally came around! A sprinkling of rain in the first moments of the ceremony had everyone running for cover, but they were able to proceed without much of a wait and the rest of the day was perfect.
“The most magical moment for us both was the aisle, and actually seeing each other for the first time that day. All of a sudden, it’s as though everyone disappears – cliche, I know. This moment was when it all became truly real, and we were ready.”
There were countless special moments but the first was the arrival of Caitlin’s brothers, who got ready in the same venue as the girls. They were to drive Caitlin and her bridesmaids to the wedding, so were a special addition to the traditional bridal party.
Stand out vendors were the Foley Artists, who “played during our ceremony, and then kept us dancing all night with their energy and fantastic DJ skills! No-one wanted the night to end” and Hannah from Blossie who created all the signage. “Hannah was so lovely to work with, with her guidance and expertise in stunning signage and invitations.”
The reception was held in the old barn which was decked out in classic styling, black bentwoods, grey tablecloths and beautiful florals by Murphy Bloom which had Caitlin in awe of her arrangements. “We weren’t sure what we wanted, we only had a colour palette, however what she created was truly magical.”
The MC, Mal, delivered funny moments “Each time she wanted to get the attention of the guests, she played Ring of Fire, and had organised three guests to play instruments to the song! It was hilarious.” The speeches by fathers, Maid of Honour (my sister) and Best Man (Dyl’s brother) were the right amount of love and humour. “Our guests were thoroughly entertained.”
The bride and groom’s first dance to “Simply the Best” was followed by the father and daughter dance.
Caitlin says her most special moment was “well and truly, the entire day. It’s hard to pin point moments, as the day was truly what we dreamed of having. Every vendor, every guest, every part – it all just worked.”
Special mention by Caitlin and Dylan: “stand outs for the show were Doxa Visual, our photographers. Jon and Jac, who make up Doxa, are real life legends! They are experts with a lense and have such a friendly nature, we never felt posed or fake. To be honest, we didn’t even realise they were there at times! Our photos are much more than we could have every expected.”
